Looking for the best nightclubs in Glasgow? You’ve come to the right place. When it comes to club nights, raving, and all things electronic music, the Scottish city does it right. You’ll find low-ceiling sweatboxes where house and techno are like a religion, many of them with a long-standing reputation for giving generation after generation their music fix.
But that isn’t to say it’s all pomp and tradition. Glasgow’s nightlife scene keeps evolving, with clubs ranging from DIY, community-first spaces to venues platforming lesser-heard sounds and artists, alongside bigger spots built for full-scale parties.
So, to help make your next night out a smash, we’ve compiled a list of the best clubs in Glasgow. Take a look, grab your tickets and make it one to remember.

Capacity: 410
Location: 22 Jamaica St, Glasgow G1 4QD
We had to kick off the list with Sub Club. The club has been giving the dancers of Glasgow a place to shake off the week’s blues since 1987, hosting nights and residents like Optimo (Espacio), Subculture and Numbers, as well as DJs like Ricardo Villalobos, DJ Harvey and Richie Hawtin. And while history counts for a lot, you’re here for the now. So, what makes Sub Club one of the best clubs in Glasgow? Well, for us, it’s the continued focus on new sounds. Throughout the year, you’ll find the boundary pushers, cutting-edge selectors and esteemed talent tearing up the soundsystem. Chuck in a lively, welcoming crowd and you’ve got a best-in-class venue that’s absolutely unmissable.

Capacity: 4,000 (Galvanizers Yard), 3,500 (Combined Indoor Spaces)
Location: 100 Eastvale Pl, Glasgow G3 8QG
Like Sub Club, SWG3 has some serious pedigree behind it. The multi-event space has been open since 2005, transformed from a derelict warehouse into a lively music and culture playground. You’ll find all sorts here. Gigs, bingo, art events, but most importantly, club nights stacked with all your favourite DJs. It could be local house and techno in The Poetry Club, SWG3’s intimate, 125-cap space, open to close sessions in the 1000-cap Warehouse or huge parties in the 1250-cap Galvanizers. Last year saw Joy Orbison and Ben UFO go B2B with Eclair Fifi in support, as well as nights from East End Dubs, Jeff Mills, Kolter and more. Head to SWG3 once and it’s likely you’ll want to keep returning again and again.
Capacity: 300
Location: 22 Renfield Ln, Glasgow G2 5AR
By day, Stereo serves up lovely food in a welcoming atmosphere. By night, it turns into a club that avoids run-of-the-mill bookings in favour of creativity. We’re talking hyperspeed footwork DJs from Chicago, and bassy grime, 140 and dubstep nights. You’ll also find nights platforming queer rappers, cavernous techno and local DJs who know how to make the crowd move. So, if you’re looking for an independent venue that caters to those who want to look beyond the mainstream, Stereo has you covered.

Image: The Berkeley Suite / Facebook.com
Capacity: 250
Location: 237 North St, Glasgow G3 7DL
From the outside, The Berkeley Suite looks pretty unassuming. The shop front is an old pawn shop sign. Inside, however, is a totally different story. The club was the ballroom of a Victorian pub, and most of the interior, including chandeliers, parquet flooring and marble staircase have been kept intact, preserved or recreated. Part of the fun is dancing to some of the squelchiest, heaviest house and techno you can think of inside a venue that basically screams luxury. You can even sip on classy cocktails from the downstairs bar. So, next time you’re in the city, venture down the steps and walk into another world; you won’t be disappointed.

Capacity: 500
Location: 69 Nelson Mandela Pl, Glasgow G2 1QY
In the heart of Glasgow’s city centre, you’ll find Room 2. It was opened by the minds behind La Cheetah Club in 2019, featuring a modular HD screen which can emit visuals behind the DJ and in front. So, when you’re losing your mind to the hard techno, gabber and trance DJs that pass through the venue, you’ll be able to take in immersive visuals. A treat for your ears and eyes, we reckon.

Capacity: 800
Location: 18 Jamaica St, Glasgow G1 4QD
The Classic Grand is another historic venue in Glasgow. Once a warehouse and a cinema, it's stood in the city for over 150 years. But rather than films, you’ll find techno nights, bounce events, nostalgic 80s day parties, and of course, plenty of vibes. There’s something for everyone here.

Underneath the railway arches on Midland Street is where you’ll find Audio. An independent venue, it mainly puts on gigs, but you’ll find at least one club worth your time each month. Whether it's house, techno, drum and bass or tech house, the club caters to all shades of electronic music, bringing in established names and fresh talent alike to get the people moving.

Image: The Art School / Facebook.com
Capacity: 800
Location: 20 Scott St, Glasgow G3 6PE
Part of the Glasgow School of Art, The Art School is a stripped-back venue, and as you’d imagine, puts on some pretty cool events. House DJs, techno scientists, local collectives and international electronic music have all graced the decks here, making up a varied programme throughout the year. The venue also platforms some of the best LGBTQ+ talent from the scene, too.

Tucked away in the basement of Max’s Glasgow is La Cheetah Club. It’s one of those places where you go to dance. Like many of the clubs in the city, it’s got a storied history, operating as a music spot in different incarnations over the years. And once you’ve been for the first time? You’ll want to keep coming back. La Cheetah Club has a community feel that’s hard to replicate.
