Every year, the BBC's flagship radio station, Radio 1, showcases its 'Sound Of' list, a collection of 10 of the most exciting rising acts around.
The list is voted on by a panel of impartial music industry experts from around the world, with the winner and runners-up due to be crowned in early January. Previous winners include Adele, Michael Kiwanuka, The Last Dinner Party, Pa Salieu, PinkPantheress, and Chappell Roan.
This year's longlist includes a diverse range of acts from relatively established bands like Geese and Royal Otis; to viral stars like Sombr and Florence Road; to rising pop icons like Alessi Rose, Chloe Qisha, and Skye Newman; to the raw British sonics of Jim Legxacy, kwn, and Sasha Keable.
