A new documentary by BBC Three, Fake Friend: The Ticket Scammer, has delved into and unveiled claims around Somerset businessman Mike Hart, son of Conservative local councillor Susannah Hart, who ran a Glastonbury-focused ticket scamming operation valued at over £1 million.
Hart allegedly told people - many of whom came forward to be interviewed for the documentary - that his mother had been allocated Glastonbury tickets with backstage and hospitality access, claiming he had privileged access due to local connections or because his family owned land near the festival site.
These were tickets he sold for thousands, tickets that never arrived, tickets that allowed him to con his way into a life of luxury.

Those who bought tickets from Hart include everyone from former schoolmates to budding attendees from across the globe, a task that resulted in him bringing in two unaware middlemen to help shift the false promises to those who missed out.
The documentary features many such people, who are still seeking refunds more than a year later, as well as numerous industry figures outlining safety concerns with such scams, as well as the financial losses mitigated to them.
