Review of Gin & Rum Festival

I have previously attended this event when it was just the rum festival. And honestly it was 100 percent much better than this one I attended last night 25th November in Sheffield. The security on the door was ok. But one of the ladies that was checking bar codes was really rude. The bar staff was in need of customer service skills and issued me with a rum that I was going to mix with c**e and she didn't suggest at any point in time that she would add dry flakes of coconut that was littetally like rough cardboard it was that horrid I discarded the drink. I would have taken it back in a quieter environment but I didn't want it to spoil my evening and I decided to leave soon after. The offering was really poor in terms of what was given to what was given in the past. In previous years when it was just the rum festival I got a glass. I can't recall recieving a free drink in the past rum festival in truth. This is likely because there was so many distillery's offering you rum samples which was the main reason and aim of me attending this type of drink festival.
The snack was dried corn snack which is misleading when it was suggested a snack I would have much preferred the Honesty of it being truthful a free complimentary bag of nuts. There was a cheap gimmick of a bag that was useless. The straw nearly knocked my front tooth out as a didn't choose to use my straw and my friend suggested I try her drink and unfortunately I didn't realize how hard the straw would be once I got towards it with force I thought oh no this isn't plastic. The Shane in all of this event is that the poor exhibitors who had their product to market didn't stand a chance as it was a much much higher percentage of in house corporate bars which meant the individual sellers that had chose to exhibit was likely if charged to stand at this event to likley not even cover costs the positions the exhibitors had was not visible and there wasn't many at all. Which was hugely disappointing. The entertainment was the only good thing of this event. I wouldn't attend this again and I definitely will not be recommending this to friends family or customers I engage with.

Went for a socially distanced gig. Very impressed - all seated, app for drinks / table service. Well spaced out tables. Very organised. Large, well ventilated etc. Would love to see more things going on here.

Venue was nice, VERY well lit though, almost felt like a school disco which was kind of uncomfortable. Toilets were a bit of a trek away but that can’t be helped and it was nice to have a bit of a walk as you have to stay sat at your tables. Staff were brill, really warm and friendly, but when people started to get a bit more merry and wanted to have a boogie the bouncer was ordering people to sit back down. I understand things have to be adhered to but it really did ruin the atmosphere, I don’t see anything wrong with people literally just standing up from their chairs to dance with the friends on their table.
I probably won’t be going back until Corp is fully open again, but it was ok for a couple of hours after our meal out 😊

terrible customer service. on the website last entry was ten o’clock. was refused our 5 tables we had booked at 9:30 pm and when we managed to get on a 8 person table there were plenty of empty tables inside. the staff that informed us of this had no apology for the £15 we had lost and were generally very rude. one drink that was ordered never arrived and the manager was very rude accusing us of lying to “get a free drink”. would not come again
