One entertainer covered two artists badly. The rest was good, Miley Cyrus was brilliant. There was too much MC in between the artists

Review of GirlyPop 2 Live | Stage City, Preston

Me and my grandaughter absolutely loved the event, however, i do think 5 1/2 hours is a bit too long for children which meant we left early and we missed 1 1/2 acts. Personally I would have preferred each act to be on for about half the time they were performing their most popular songs. Can't fault anything at all though about the event in general. The venue, the staff and the acts were all fabulous.

as the event was  aimed at young children thought should be put in about what songs to sing and take out bad language and think about appropriateness of outfits/dances and length of event.

Not as 'polished' as we expected from how the event is portrayed on social media. Although we had a good day and we thought the performers were good for and event of this style and the age range of the audience, I don't think the venue was well set up to accommodate the event.

We queued for half an hour for what was advertised as 'street food' which was just the most basic luke warm plain burgers and hotdogs (on a baguette, not even a proper hotdog bun), seemingly provided by the venue itself. Due to the set up of the room and the queue, there was no way to know what food was even available (and the cost of such) until we were at the front of the line, so we pretty much just joined the queue blindly hoping there'd be som**hing suitable. The only other form of refreshments were just basic pack*ts of sweets/crisps etc.

You also had to queue entirely separately for drinks.

The glitter and hair stations were crammed into the tiniest space with very little organisation. Like the situation with the food, you couldn't see what was available and the prices until you were right at the front of the queue, at which point youre left with no choice but to pay £8+ for a few splodges of hair glitter. 

With the exception of the main entrance area, which has seating for about 5 groups, there was nowhere to sit other than on the floor of the dance area. Given the age range of the audience and the length of the event, this surprised me.

The whole place felt extremely crowded, and there was no vantage point to allow my young daughter to safely watch the acts on the stage. We left after 2 hours as she was too overwhelmed and felt disappointed. 

As I stated, the actual acts were fine and created a good atmosphere for all the children, but I feel our experience was massively let down by the venue.

No cloakroom facility. Toilets disgusting. Prices extortionate. Got overcharged at the bar. Told it had been refunded no refund received! Long queues for snacks. The music and entertainment was excellent though would recommend the show.

Could've had more seating areas for adults but fantastic atmosphere and great day for kids

Event too long. Performances should have been tailored to 'hits' rather than broader album unknown tracks - did not hold the attention of the target age group.

Me my daughter and granddaughter had a lovely day was entrained through out the day . Highly recommended
