About

Billy Bootleggers is proud to present an Evening With Nigel Clark and Chris Helme!!
As part of our 7th year Birthday Celebrations we wanted to bring something special to Billy's Nottingham.
And I think we have ...
NIGEL CLARK
After Dodgy disbanded is the early 2000's (now back together), Nigel pursued a solo career, releasing several albums and continuing to captivate audiences with his soulful vocals and heart felt lyrics.
His solo work showcases his versatility as a musician, with influences ranging from Folk to Indie Rock. Nigel Clark’s music continues to resonate with fans old & new, and he remains a respected figure in the British music industry. With his distinctive voice and musicianship, Nigel Clark is sure to leave a lasting impact on the music world for years to come.
His shows are mesmerising playing a lot of the Dodgy hits stripped back. A must see!!
Dodgy formed in 1990 and rose to prominence in the Britpop era of the 1990s. They gave us hits like "Staying Out For The Summer", "If You're Thinking Of Me" and "Good Enough" which reached number 4 in the UK Charts.
CHRIS HELME
Front man from The Seahorses brings his beautiful voice and songs to Temperance. Heartbreak and Britpop. Lovely
From his breakthrough success with The Seahorses to an enduring solo career, Chris has always excelled at pouring his heart into music - in the process creating songs as affectingly emotional as they are obviously accomplished. Now, thirty years on from that first spotlight moment, the singer-songwriter provides a taste of his ever popular live shows with the new album ‘Forest For The Trees’.
The Seahorses were only together for less than three years but they achieved more than most bands do in decades: a massive Platinum-certified album, several chart hits, gigs with Oasis, The Rolling Stones and U2, working with Tony Visconti, and selling-out tours around the world. And since then, Chris has flourished with a solo career, constantly playing up-and-down the country to audiences split between original Britpop-era fans and youngsters who have discovered his catalogue via their parents’ record collection.
Joining Nigel and Chris - LEAH WILCOX
Music for the dreamers - Leah's hazy and earthy sound is rooted in a British-sounding Countrygaze landscape, drawing on Indie Rock and Ambient Folk and 70s sounds to share her journey, as a musician and through life. The airy, dreamy but raw and atypical feel of her music lends itself to her heartfelt lyricism. A gritty, misty romantic who aims to create a sense of nostalgia for the near past. For people to either relate to or escape to, she shapes her songs with love and delivers them with devotion.
Recently featuring on BBC Introducing East Midlands as well as BBC Radio Nottingham, Derby, Leicester and Lincolnshire respectively, and performing at TRUCK Festival, Y?NOT Festival and DOT2DOT Nottingham, as well as opening mainstage of Moseley Folk & Arts Festival, and being shortlisted for Amplead's Apply to Play Isle of Wight, all whilst being on a 8-date in store HMV tour for her live CD release in 2024, the self-funded Derbyshire singer-songwriter has grown into a captivating young artist fulfilling her visions of indie-rockstar, singer-songwriter folklore.

A MUST SEE SHOW!!!!
