Heather Blockey's Torn series of photographs depict accidental happenings on billboards. Taken over the last eight years in and around Camden her photographs record chance compositions, the colours and shapes mimic a bygone genre of painting a kind of abstract expressionism. Showing a moment between decay and renewal a suspended time. They are captured moments, fleeting happenings, torn posters on billboards only temporarily visable before a few hours later they are covered over by a new advertisement. It is art that has been created through an incidental process.
