North Pole Bar

Manchester’s North Pole bar returns to Cathedral Gardens (next to Urbis and Exchange Square) from Thursday, 4 November - an impressive new pop up wonderland with warming cocktails galore providing an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city centre streets and plenty of festive cheer. As the frost hits the ground, The North Pole Bar, experienced by 100,000 residents in 2008 and 2009, is an early Christmas present for Manchester’s City Centre. Three times the size of last year’s venue, the bar now boasts a luxurious snug, cosily furnished with chesterfield sofas and vintage rugs for relaxing après work or shopping. The 400 metre square marquee, which has a decked front and Christmas trees leading to the entrance also houses separate seated and standing areas surrounded by a Narnia style forest, ensuring there’s room for all to come in out of the cold. Not losing its intimate feel, the bar splits into two with a larger area that can be opened at busy times or booked separately for parties. Back by popular demand is the North Pole’s hit winter cocktail menu, including the Classic Winter Crumble and Manchester’s Mulled Wine; accompanied by a plentiful range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, coffees and not forgetting hot Ribenas for the kids. Warming winter food will be available throughout the day plus a bounty of sweet treats, candy canes and cookies. The atmospheric North Pole is dedicated to great music and good times and goes that extra mile to ensure festive fun for all. Soon to be announced is a full programme of winter frolics - watch out for carol singers, brass bands, silent discos, quizzes and much much more – all with a quirky North Pole twist. The North Pole is brought to the city by Ear to the Ground – the Manchester-based event and communications agency previously responsible for Dpercussion and Parklife and currently producing The Warehouse Project.
