About

Ten years on from 'I Can't Stand Myself' down at CHUNK, the stress is enough of a distant memory for Adult Baby to present 'I Still Can't Stand Myself'! A full day of obnoxious music; post-punk, noise rock, no wave, post-hardcore and more.

Here's what's on the menu...

NOPE.0
Dual-drummer instrumental Leeds noise rock legends NOPE, back in action after a decade-long hiatus in stripped-down trio formation as NOPE.0. This is a special one for me personally as 2012's 'Revision' is one of the albums from back in the day that broke my brain in the particular way that it is now broken.
FFO: Neu!, Smashing Pumpkins, one riff

Moni Jitchell
Glasgow's finest backing track hardcore band, touring in support of their new album 'Aware'. A duo featuring alumni of such legendary UKDIY bands as Thin Privilege and Civil Elegies.
FFO: The Chariot, Test Icicles, 12-string guitars where 12-string guitars should not be

Pleb
The horriblest sludge that can possibly be sludged, performed by two of the Leeds punk scene's most relentless rockers. If you're expecting minimalism then you'll be sorely mistaken; freed from the restraints of additional musicians, both members of Pleb mutate into the most sprawling, maximalist versions of themselves.
FFO: Dystopia, Moloch, speaker cabinets

Natural Born Shooter
Young'uns playing remarkably mean-spirited electroclash, like someone took a 2007 issue of the NME and stuck it in a blender with blood and piss.
FFO: Chicks On Speed, Special Interest, children's toy drum kits

Solderer
Anarcho-no-wave meets Rock In Opposition meets haunted circus ringmaster. Tim and Eric background characters trying and failing to play hardcore punk.
FFO: Dog Faced Hermans, Flipper, the notes between the notes

Rubbernecking
Debut Leeds show for London post-punkers led by prodigal son Fred Mikardo-Greaves (of ZoZo and M-G Dysfunction fame). This is music that suggests a whole slew of potential grooves whilst obstinately refusing to settle into any of them.
FFO: Talking Heads, Enablers, Robert Fripp and Toyah Willcox's YouTube channel

Gravel
Hook-laden, no-frills power-pop from members of Milk Crimes, Heat Wrays and more. Frankly your best and/or only opportunity for a truly "nice" time throughout this event.
FFO: R.E.M., The Housemartins, lager shandies

Bludgeons
Brand new band, first ever gig. Relive the glory days of mid-00's metalcore without the somewhat offputting hyper-religious stuff.
FFO: Norma Jean, The Dillinger Escape Plan, that video of Mike Patton saying "the wizard!"

House Full of Garbage (DJ set)
Leeds' worst DJ trio out of retirement for the first time since 2023, and perhaps the first HFOG set where all three members will be present? Obviously I have now jinxed it.
FFO: Robbie Williams, Despicable Me, 'The Winner Smokes The Weed' by Sherekahnn

Plus stalls from Birdbrains Makes, Kelly V Bishop, North Or Nowt and Pinhead Distro!
