Drawing comparisons with Gorillaz, Beck, The Avalanches, Jungle and The Flaming Lips, Messy Eater combines relatable lyrical observations on modern life with irresistible hooks and a unique self-produced sound to create vibrant, life-affirming music.

In only 18 months, he has played a standout debut live session for BBC Introducing, a sold out Sofar Sounds show, on the Freshly Squeezed Stage at Camper Calling Festival and on the main stage at the historic York Theatre Royal as one of 10 “Breakthrough Artists” at the Aesthetica Festival.  Receiving strong editorial support from Apple Music, Messy Eater has been championed by Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing, as well numerous press tastemakers.

A singer-songwriter blending indie soul and pop, pairing rich, soulful vocals with groove-led live arrangements and candid songwriting. Her songwriting draws from relationships, self-image and the realities of being young. Backed by a five-piece live band, Freddie brings an energetic, soulful feel to the stage.

AUTUMN CHARLOTTE AND THE LOVE BUGS

An Indie/jazz melancholy band from Leeds. Fronted by a soulful female lead with a jazzy snazzy guitar tone. A real unique sound, drawing influences from Amy Winehouse and Jeff Buckley.

RETROSPECT

A contemporary jazz band, made of jazz students who met and study at Leeds Conservatoire. Whilst exploring more contemporary sounds inspired by artists such as Cleo Sol, Yussuf Dayes, Haitus Kayote, the band is also heavily influenced by early jazz, building off many of the sensibilities in the tradition, with many of our pieces having a strong focus on improvisation.
