Inviting a winning mixture of up and coming artists with more established songwriters, those of you who love the sound of the unplugged are in for a bit of a treat at this years Dumfriesshire festival.

First up we can look forward to a show stopping set from London based Pete Roe. Better known for his long time collaborations with Laura Marling, Pete has gained considerable praise for his solo work, which showcases his unique talent for combining honest lyrics with a compelling contemporary sound. Drawing comparisons with Bert Jansch and John Martyn, Pete is going to be a welcome arrival at this years Wickerman.

Colin Macleod will be following hot on his heels. Making his Wickerman debut with fresh material and a renewed determination, Colin, also known as The Boy Who Trapped The Sun will surely be one of the acoustic highlights of the festival.

Jazz Folk innovators Simon Atkinson and the Foundryman’s Apprentice are all set to bring a bit of healthy variety to proceedings, as the unique talents of Simon and his seven piece band will be putting on a rousing set of new and classic tracks and carefully selected covers.

Ukulele champion Zoe Bestel will also be getting in on the action, as will Victorian Trout Conspiracy.

Saturday heralds a very special occasion indeed, as legendary folk rock goddess Shelagh McDonald continues with her return to the limelight after an incredible 33 years away from music, and takes up centre stage.

Al Lewis will be there too showing off his immaculate 70s sound, as will ‘Scotland's Young Traditional Musician of the Year’ and tireless forward thinking performer to boot - Paddy Callaghan.

Other treats in store include 24 year old singer songwriter Tommy Reilly and Belle & Sebastian contributor Roy Moller, as well as Kimmi J Mitchell, Roberto Cassani, Dr Escheton, Diddums, Sarah Cassidy, Kevin Cadwallender and Sarah’s Metric.

With the acoustic villager gaining more fans with each passing year, pressure has been on to collate a lineup that will please all. However it seems as if the organizers have put together a group of artists that will once again delight and enthrall the loyal acoustic following.
