In a city not necessarily known for its clubbing scene, Chester's Live Rooms have tirelessly sought to change that perception by enticing a raft of heavy hitting big names to the city.
Hailed as Chester's 'newest and largest independent live music venue and nightclub', The Live Rooms have seen the likes of SecondCity, Gorgon City, Sigma, Yousef and Route 94 join them in the past few months. We thought we'd check out what they have planned for winter.
November 8th sees the tenth instalment of nghtwrk, and with that comes a headline slot from Liverpool based Friend Within.
Having had releases snapped up by labels like San Francisco bass specialists Dirtybird and Method Records, home to such luminaries as Disclosure, Tourist and Sam Smith, Friend Within has made a real name for himself thanks to his 'raw 808 rhythms, club ready vocal cuts and a deeply addictive woozy-synths'. Expect some dancefloor dynamite when he mans the ones and twos, as heard in his track 'The Game' above. Tickets are on sale here
The turntable wizardry of Jaguar Skills takes centre stage on November 29th. Joined by his amazing friends, the masked hero of cutting and scratching will be once again plundering dance music of all genres into one show of technical genius. Not sure what we mean? All avenues of house are on the menu on December 19th when burgeoning Geordie DJ Cristoph takes the reigns, showcasing his unique range and dexterity behind the decks. Now a big hit in Ibiza as well as the rest of Europe, Cristoph's deep and vibey sound has definitely struck a chord with the modern house fraternity. Experience some of that in his mix above.
