Whilst we are well into July, and everyone's focus is on festivals, particularly after Glastonbury just happened, we wanted to take a step back from the live music world and enter the world of comedy. Up and down the country, seasoned pros, and hilarious newcomers are taking the stage to test the funny bones of punters to their extremes. All with tickets available in Skiddle, these are the very best in the coming weeks and months; basically, if you want to go see some comedy, it has to be one of these.

The show is for everyone; from iGens to Millennials, Baby Boomers and beyond, all of who can join Tom as he toys with the complexities of our ever-changing world and muses on progressiveness and pronouns - not to mention 27 years of marriage and adult kids who refuse to respect him.

The People's Comedy Club

When: Saturday 9th September 2023

Where: Peoples Theatre in Newcastle Upon Tyne

Get ready for an unforgettable evening of comedy as 'The People's Comedy Club' is coming back to the Toon on Saturday, September 9th at the People's Theatre. 

With an epic headliner in Larry Dean, joined by huge talents like Tom Ward, Nick Helm, John Whale and Nicola Mantalios as her character Zoe already, This one promises to be a night of non-stop laughter. Plus, if that wasn't enough, there are more acts to be announced soon!

Comedy in the Caves

When: Wednesday 19th July 2023

Where: The Whistle and Flute Bar in Nottingham

Attention all comedy lovers and cave enthusiasts (a weird Venn diagram we know but stick with us)! Get ready for an unforgettable experience as 6 of the UK's most hilarious stand-up comedians perform live in an actual cave. Located beneath the beautiful Whistle & Flute pub on Derby Road, Nottingham, the caves offer an insanely unique space to watch comedy blended perfectly with a smattering of adventure.

On the bill is Chris Oxenbury, Patrick Draper, Sallyann Fellowes, and Ben Briggs, with Nottingham's finest modern stand up, Scott Bennet, heading up proceedings.

Viggo Venn & Julia Masli

When: Saturday 22nd July 2023

Where: The Attic in Southampton

Fresh off the back of his 2023 Britains Got Talent Victory, Viggo Venn is coming to The Attic in Southampton, and don't be surprised to see a couple of hundred Hi-Vis jackets come with him. Alongside him on the bill is none other than his wife! Julia Masli, who is fresh off of having one of the most in-demand, and well-reviewed shows of the 20922 Edinburgh Fringe. 

Basically, the people of Southampton are in for a tummy-tickling treat in a few weeks' time, and if you aren't there, then we simply can't forgive you. It's going to be an absolute belter.

The CCC with Dan Nightingale

Where: St Marys Creative Space in Chester

The Comedians Club Chester is one of the very best new comedy clubs in the North West. Coming out of the incredible converted church that is St Marys Creative Space, and hosted by one half of the Have A Word Podcast, Dan Nightingale; this night is filled with some of the finest acts from the UK Circuit, this monthly night is already becoming one of the very best about.

In this edition of the night, Dan will be joined by up-and-coming, quintessentially Northern comic, Paul McCaffrey; the hilarious Wigan funnyman, Chris Washington; and the seasoned story-teller comic, Barry Dodds. This one is set to split many a side in Chester, and we can't wait to be down there giggling away with you!

Star of Live at the Apollo and Mock the Week Jen Brister brings her sell-out show to the Southport Comedy Festival. The Optimist is a show that revolves around whether the pandemic changed Jen for the better, or if she is still the same old pessimistic naysayer she’s always been. I think we all know the answer to that.

Comedy Night in Association with Frog and Bucket

When: Friday 28th July 2023

Where: Fat Bird in Wigan

The legendary Manchester comedy club, The Frog and Bucket, is branching out into Greater Manchester, more specifically, Wigan! That's right, the comedy club will be curating an epic night of laughs at the Fat Bird in the town, and the lineup looks absolutely belting. 

From one half of the hilariously dark Dead Men Talking podcast, Freddy Quinne; to the seasoned side-splitter Danny McLoughlin; to the distinctively dry and endlessly funny, Peter Brush; to one of the most original voices in female Uk comedy, Lindsey Santoro; it's going to be a cracker. You, the people of Wigan, are in for a treat!

Danny McLoughlin

Calling all Sheffield-based comedy fans, the seasoned club comic, and endlessly hilarious Danny McLoughlin is coming to The Leadmill this October. Armed with an arsenal of quintessentially British topics, and a delivery that is side-creasingly low-key, we can't wait to see him turn the room into a giggling eruption. He's a proper gem of the scene and for any and all comedy fans in the city, it's one you can't miss.

Funny Beeseness

Where: The Castle And Falcon in Birmingham

Whilst this one was set to happen this weekend, it's unfortunately had to be rearranged, but this opening night at Birmingham's brand new comedy venue, Funny Beeseness, is one that you just have to get booked onto, as the lineup is stacked, and who doesn't like a brand new light?
