Skiddle Mix 020 - Craig Connelly (Trance Sanctuary/Egg London) by Skiddle on Mixcloud

It might not be a sound for everyone, but you can’t dent the appeal of trance. It may never scale the clubland ubiquity it enjoyed in the late nineties during the height of the superclub era, but as a scene it remains refreshingly well attended by a glut of hardcore devotees, all flocking across the country in search of the relentless euphoria and spine tingling basslines the genre delivers on the regular.

One of these such events is Trance Sanctuary, a day and night party that packs them in month after month down in the big smoke, utilising the three floors of Egg London for a showcase in the best underground sounds Trance has become known for. As the name suggests it’s a haven for the acolytes wishing to immerse themselves in the dark and light trance provides so effectively, with a gloriously friendly atmosphere to boot.

This month they are joining up with their like-minded brothers and Skiddle favourites Rong, bringing three of the hottest names in the scene. The very popular Bryan Kearney returns to London after his reverential appearance last summer, alongside Poland's Arctic Moon making his Egg London debut and Craig Connelly from Gareth Emery's Garuda, the man behind one of this summer's biggest tracks 'Black Hole'.

It’s Connelly who excites us here the most. Label A&R at Emery's world famous imprint, Craig has shown you don’t need decades in the business to feel at ease with the scene’s heavyweights. The last year has seen him secure no less than 7 Beatport Top 10 selling Trance productions including his number 1s 'Robot Wars' and the afore mentioned 'Black Hole' (below). The mix packs in tracks from Armin Van Buuren, Lnage, Solar Stone and even a cheeky re-edit of the immortal classic ‘Resurrection’ from PPK. Follow the ticket link to witness Craig delivering the mix in the flesh.
