“Of all the phrases in the English language, of all the endless combinations of words in all of history, cellar door is the most beautiful” – Donnie Darko

The above quote comes from one the greatest but equally weirdest films of the past 15 years, not the first place you'd think to seek inspiration for an electronic music record label. But that's exactly what Dave Seaman and Steve Parry did, using the phrase to eptiomise what they have described as their "search for rhythmic perfection and the most ‘beautiful sound".

That sound has manifested itself through the productions of a the great and good of modern dance music, an ensemble of established names and exciting young talent including Samu.l, Piemont, Pete Gooding, Robert Babicz, Darren Emerson and Just Be (aka Bushwacka!). Our pick has been their refix of the acid house classic 'Get Real' from former Frankie goes to Hollywood Paul Rutherford, which you can stream below.

As two of the most regal taste-makers in electronic music, Dave Seaman and Steve Parry certainly know a thing or two about a good record. Dave’s glittering international DJing career, countless compilations and stint as editor of Mixmag is the perfect foil for Steve’s fifteen years of experience at the helm of legendary Liverpool vinyl emporium 3Beat and his role as a record buyer and listener for some of the world’s leading DJs through his SMP3 Company.

Seaman and Selador also managed to fund the first ever mix compilation through crowd sourcing earlier in the year, continuing a trajectory of ingenuity and trailblazing in the field which started when he became the first ever DJ, alongside Carl Cox, to mix a commercially available mix CD.

Of course all this music makes the best sense inside clubs, and Selador are part of a party well worth your attention at Liverpool's legendary rave in a cave, the Williamson Tunnels. Both Dave and Steve play, the former delivering a three hour set, as part of 303 presents on Saturday 23rd November (it was our scribe Jess Heaton's Golden Ticket in her rundown of the Month Ahead Clubbing in Liverpool). It's the best chance to not only see one of the most decorated DJs of all time in Dave Seaman, but also catch a full soundscape

Head here for your tickets for that.
