It's been quite the opening year for Ohm, who have been one of the nights to really shine in Sheffield's vibrant nightlife. Their residency at Plug has proven to be a resounding success, as their party throwing abilities and intelligent booking know-how has repeatedly resulted in some of the city's finest rave ups. The 8th of February sees Ohm Sweet Ohm celebrate their first year in the business, and with that comes a seriously impressive line up.

At the helm of the anniversary shenanigans comes one of the most gifted DJs in the country - James Zabiela. As one of the DJs that has embraced technology in a big way, Zabiela's sets are a whirlwind mash up dance music across the spectrum, blending almost disparate styles together in a spellbinding and yet cohesive way.

He somehow manages to layer, splice and sample tracks on the fly, creating unique one off remixes and bootlegs on the fly causing untold dancefloor carnage. Just check out his powerhouse performances at Boiler Room (above) to remind yourself of why Zabiela enjoys the amount of plaudits he so rightly deserves.

Joining him will be the equally convention irreverent DJing talent of Pedestrian. Signed to the mighty 2nd Drop records as well as Born Electric, Pedestrian's productions and remixes have taken the world of bass music by storm. His deliriously off kilter blend of garage rhythms, out there drum n bass and serious low end deep house have proven to be a breath of fresh air in a fiercely fought scene. His sets too are as excitingly unpredictable as you could wish for, whilst keeping things dance floor savvy.

Rounding off proceedings will be Pedram. As one of Ohm Sweet Ohm's residents, Pedram has time and again announced his skills as a DJ, but he's also been making a name for himself as a producer too, with Zabiela himself picking up his 'Nina/Immaturity' (above) record for his own Born Electric imprint. His sets will both start the night and end it on a smooth house vibe, representative of his soulful tech-wise deep house output.

It's looking like Ohm Sweet Ohm have secured yet another line up brimming with talent for their first birthday. Unmissable.
