T minus eight days until Christmas. Can you believe it?! Honestly, to us, it feels like only yesterday we were stood around bonfires in the freezing cold, watching disappointingly expensive fireworks somewhat fill the night sky, and now we're well within a fortnight of the big day! Where does the time go...

On a less retrospective and existential note, we've certainly got lots to look forward to over the coming days, weeks and months, especially in the way of brand new and rather flipping excellent live music events. 

In our latest New On Skiddle roundup, you'll find epic NYE spectaculars, massive performances from international music icons, the return of summertime music festivals and much more. Sean Paul Live

When: Friday 15th April 2022

Where: BEC ARENA OUTDOOR EVENT SPACE in Manchester

Global figurehead of the Jamaican dancehall scene, international superstar Sean Paul arrives in Manchester next Spring, stopping off on his UK tour to perform in front of thousands of music fans at Manchester's BEC Arena. 

The Caribbean-born singer, who's had chart success with massive tracks the likes of 'Temperature', 'Get Busy' and his most recent release, 'Dynamite', featuring singer-songwriter, Sia, will be joined on stage on Friday 15th April by fellow Jamaican singer, Sean Kingston.

Bassfest NYE 21-22

When: Friday 31st December 2021 (New Year's Eve)

Where: Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham

Sound system junkies rejoice! Bassfest is coming 'up-norf' this New Years Eve for a chest-rattling, earth-moving bass music bonanza! 

Taking over the Magna Science Adventure venue - a former steel mill in Rotherham located less than half an hours drive from Sheffield city centre - the event promises to be one of the biggest in the UK on Friday 31st December, and those thinking of attending have a lot to look forward to...

Boasting impressive stage, sound and light production, ten hours of music and over fifty headline acts, including live sets from chart smashing names the likes of Chase & Status, Hybrid Minds, Darkzy and Macky Gee - this is one serious end of year gathering you can't afford to miss!

Maiden Voyage Festival 2022

When: Sunday 28th August 2022

Where: Lee Valley Park. Fisher's Green in Waltham Abbey

Back once again, returning to the secluded Lee Valley Park in the stunning Epping Forest district of Essex, Maiden Voyage is set to bring the sounds of the summer over the August Bank Holiday weekend in 2022.

Delivering its third and already highly anticipated event, the festival is set to spoil its many thousands of guests to a host of first-rate performances from some of the most hyped names in jazz, hip hop, soul, world music, techno, house, and more. Reminisce Festival Warehouse Dayz

When: Saturday 5th March 2022

Where: O2 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester

Returning to Victoria Warehouse for another unreal night of the biggest live acts and old school DJs is Reminisce Festival.

Sonic Wave 2022

Where: Digbeth in Birmingham, West Midlands

Birmingham's multi-venue festival is back with some up and coming acts to add some sunshine to your 2022.

June 2022 will see the likes of Sports Team, The Magic Gang, Connie Constance, Baby Queen, SKAAR, Tom A Smith and more take to the stage to delight your ears with their indie, alt-rock, pop, and alt-pop tunes. With 80 acts set to be announced, this is not a festival you’ll want to miss.

Pierjam 2022

Where: Blackpool Tower in Blackpool

Set on the Blackpool North Pier, PierJam is back to take your summer to the next level.

Back with a bang is DJ and host Bradley Zero to spin house, disco, techno, jass, and soul tunes ‘til the early hours in Birmingham.

After partaking in live streams and radio shows over the pandemic, the radio presenter is aching to get back out and see some happy, dancing crowds as he blasts tunes all through the night at the Hare & Hounds. Discotech | Mad Friday w/ Rossko + Michael James

Manchester Psych Fest 2022

When: Saturday 3rd - Sunday 4th September 2022

Where: Various Venues Around Manchester in Manchester

In a city known for its contributions to music, Manchester is the perfect location to discover all the amazing bands on this juicy lineup.

With talent with influences ranging from garage riffs, prog, psych-pop, blues, traditional Tuareg music, post-punk, lo-fi, indie and so much more, any music fan will delight in the mixture of sounds and creative songwriting. 

But that’s not all. The festival will also incorporate DJs, food stalls, exhibitions and murals to create something more than just a gig. The fest will take place across some of the city’s best, most intimate venues including Deaf Institute, Gorilla, and YES on the 4th of September next year.
