New York house pioneers Mood II Swing are heading back to Manchester later this month, with John Ciafone set to perform his first set in the city for almost a decade.
The influential producer and DJ will appear at Live From The Grill on Sunday 30th August, playing across two Sunday sessions at the rooftop festival hosted at Depot Mayfield.
As one half of Mood II Swing alongside Lem Springsteen, Ciafone helped shape the sound of US house music throughout the 1990s. The duo are best known for producing Ultra Naté's iconic anthem ‘Free’, as well as a catalogue of underground house releases and remixes for artists including Janet Jackson, Lucy Pearl and Nuyorican Soul.

His return forms part of a lineup curated by Habitat, Band on the Wall and renae, with UK garage favourite MJ Cole, Manchester duo Children of Zeus, Ruf Dug, Tia Cousins, AK Gramm, DJ Lenny and Medullaa also set to perform across the weekend.
Alongside the music, Live From The Grill will once again combine live DJs with a programme of barbecue and street food, featuring pitmasters and restaurants from across the UK. Traders include Blacklock, Maray, Cafe Continental, Pappy's Texas BBQ, Big Tray BBQ and Michelin-starred Alchemilla.
The festival will also feature exclusive collaborative merchandise created with Bound, Clints, Permanent Orbit and Hikerdelic.
