Funkademia announce free day party at Joshua Brooks this weekend
Manchester’s longest running club night is taking over the middle bar at Joshua Brooks for a free party this weekend.

A free day party is heading to Joshua Brooks this weekend courtesy of Funkademia. Manchester’s longest running club night will take over the venue’s middle bar this weekend, Saturday 26th September 2026, featuring classic funk, soul and disco from 4pm onwards.
The free day party’s lineup boasts Manchester producer Black Hawks Of Panama, whose catalogue includes releases on Hot Creations, Future Disco and Midnight Riot, Adam Unsworth of house duo Audiowhores fame, and Funkademia founder and resident Jamie Scahill.
A staple in Cottonopolis since 1995, Funkademia has provided funk, soul and disco to Northern dancefloors for over three decades, having previously enjoyed stints at The Boardwalk, Mint Lounge, Exhibition, The Deaf Institute, and New Century. This weekend it is bound for beloved Princess Street venue Joshua Brooks, which first opened in 1993 and recently reopened following a major refurbishment, having enjoyed a launch party fronted by Sam Divine last weekend.
