We're pretty excited about Groovefest heading to Malta next month and can you blame us? Following the huge success of their epic trip to the Dominican Republic last year, this spring sees another marriage between the perfect line up and a beautiful location.

This time the venue is an island rapidly becoming the new European hotspot to party. Malta's St Paul's Bay will host and boast Groovefest's trademark combination of sun and house music between Friday April 29th and Sunday May 1st.

But with a line up that's grown and grown over the last few weeks just who should you be listening to as you take in those amazing views of the blue Mediterranean sea? With so much quality on the bill we've highlighted five must see artists you simply can't afford to miss.

Jamie Jones

There are few better DJs capable of creating that crucial summer vibe than Jamie Jones thanks to his Ibiza stints at Paradise and Circoloco at DC10. Credited with taking house and techno in a warmer more melodic direction, Jones' status as one of the leading DJs in the world ensures he is one of Groovefest's must sees. Watch him in action in Brazil last year above.

Hot Since 82

Leeds based DJ and producer Daley Padley has enjoyed a few stellar years since crash landing on planet house music back in 2011. He made Ibiza his own in 2014 with his Knee Deep In Sound imprint further cementing his position as a hero of the big room. Those sun-bleached melodies will sound perfect pumping out across the island.

Sonny Fodera

Australian Sonny Fodera has enjoyed a meteoric rise with 2016's three disc Defected in the House mix putting the seal on hugely in demand DJ's thrilling journey (read our recent interview with him about it).

Now leading from the front, the man originally turned on to dance music by Derrick Carter has fomented his own groove driven, emotive brand of house that now resonates around the world as evidenced by his recent 30 date tour of the UK, US and his native Oz. Check out 'Feeling You' above.

Kerri Chandler

One of house music's originators, Kerri Chandler has been injecting New York soul into his music since the early nineties. Since releasing his first single on Atlantic Records back in 1991, the New Jersey DJ has released over 100 records, from heady to heavy, hooky to hedonistic.

A tireless master of the mixer, Chandler's your man if you're searching for a party-minded set that covers techno, contemporary and classic house music and disco.

Art Department

Despite splitting from artistic partner Kenny Glasgow last year, Canadian Jonny White continues to make music as Art Department as well as managing his own No.19 label.

Known for their killer tech house sets, White continues to fly the flag for all the purists out there with his love of underground dance music and substance over showmanship. Watch Art Department in action at last year's Creamfields in Argentina above. Head here for Groovefest tickets
