Alt-Rock icons The Smashing Pumpkins headline Colchester Castle Summer Series

Few bands have shaped alternative music like The Smashing Pumpkins. Since forming in 1988, Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, and James Iha defined the sound of a generation with their game-changing sonic archive, producing numerous classic records like Siamese Dream, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, and many more.

So, while you might be a cool kid who never has the time, the Colchester Castle Summer Series will test your resolve this summer as The Smashing Pumpkins have just been announced as the headliner of their Thursday night. Joined by British rock titans Skunk Anansie and indie post-punk favourites White Lies, this unmissable show lands on the 14th of August and is a rare chance to see Billy Corrigan and Co. live in an open-air setting.

With up to 10,000 fans expected per show, the Colchester Castle Summer Series is shaping up to be the city’s biggest music event in years. It’s already packed with huge names, including Craig David, Texas, Madness, Busted, UB40, James, and more still to be announced.
