35 Years of The Warehouse with Maya Jane Coles

As one of the most revered edifices of British clubbing, Leeds' mighty Warehouse has in its extensive tenure been the home to some of the biggest names of house, techno, dubstep, garage, and electro, with past visitors including the likes of Soft Cell, Grandmaster Flash, Sasha, Fatboy Slim, 2ManyDJs and Steve Lawler.

Having been long since renowned for its super heavyweight sound systems (LFO cut a special version of their seminal hit LFO especially for the Leeds Warehouse rig back in 1990), as well as attracting a discerning, up for it crowd, The Warehouse has in turn created a hive of dance music activity, becoming instrumental in its evolution and progression throughout the years. 

Now turning the ripe old age of 35, Leeds Warehouse welcomes some of today's biggest stars to kick off the celebrations in emphatic style. First up is perhaps the leading lady in house music in the country - Maya Jane Coles.

Her brand of catchy, vocal lead deep house has become integral to the scene, battered by the biggest DJs right across the globe, whilst her own imprint I/AM/ME continues to forge forward faultlessly. Her sets are crammed full of crowed pleasing groovers, underpinned by booty shaking basslines and infectious pop hooks . In short, there's no one else more qualified to rock a party than Maya (check out her XLR8R Podcast above for proof).

The always impressive New York native Kim Ann Foxman joins her with her soulful, vibrant house sound in tow. Called in to play everywhere from Tokyo to Stockholm, Berlin to Brussels, Foxman continues to be the go-to talent for some of the most essential parties in the world (witness her in the Boiler Room above).

Further house royalty joins the birthday shenanigans in the shape of DC10 regular Laura Jones, whose 'heartfelt, emotive and melodic house' leanings are guaranteed to bring the ruckus. Bag your Leeds Warehouse tickets here.
