Creatures Comedy Festival presents Northern Takeover Day featuring a very special split bill with Charlie Lewis and Verity Sharpe.
It might be something in the water, but Manchester has fathered some of the leading comic acts in the country. From eighties and nineties comedienne Victoria Wood to Bolton based record breaking stand up Peter Kay, the reemerging Jason Manford to Mock the Week favourite Chris Addison, and not to mention one of the most important comic minds in the UK Steve Coogan, Manchester has a seriously impressive comedy background. The city plays host to a tonne of comedy nights peppered around its confines. With comics ranging from the cerebral to the slapstick, you'll never be hard pressed to find winning comedy nights in Manchester.
Manchester has some fantastic comedy venues, including the multi-award-winning Frog and Bucket, a club which added another two awards to its impressive trophy case this year.
