Review of Riverside Arts Jazz - Alfie Carroll

      Overall rating: 4.5 Verified review

Riverside Arts Jazz is a super local venue with good acoustics and a pleasant ambience. It is ideal for a jazz gig, and provably for small-scale theatre too. It has a bar (essential) and although it doesn't serve food there are a couple of good food places very close by.

Review of Riverside Arts Jazz - Alfie Carroll

      Overall rating: 5 Verified review

A very enjoyable evening enlivened by Alfie Carroll's c**kney banter. Musicianship maybe not quite reaching the usual heights of Mood Indigo gigs, but it was a big ask to reproduce the Pat Metheny canon - a very complex and frequently unique body of work. Usual rock solid support from Terry Collie, and the rhythm section was good without ever threatening to set the world on fire.

      Riverside Arts Centre venue information

The Riverside Arts Centre (RAC) provides a well equipped venue for the visual and performing arts as well as being a co-ordinating body for individuals and amateur and professional groups to promote such activities in its premises. It is run in its entirety by voluntary effort. Its main source of income is rental fees for the use of its facilities.

RAC is owned by Spelthorne Borough Council and is leased to The Riverside Arts Centre Ltd. The Studio - formerly the village branch of Barclays Bank - is owned by The Trustees. RAC was opened in April 1982 after 5 years toil converting a near derelict building into a viable theatre space. The Studio was purchased in 2003 and opened in November 2006.
