Voyage Through Dartmouth's Historic Harbours and Rails

Explore Dartmouth at your own pace

Cannon muzzles still peer out from ancient stone at Bayard's Cove Fort, their silent vigil masking centuries of intrigue and unrest along Dartmouth's tidal waters. This self-guided audio tour reveals secret corners and layered stories often missed by those passing through the harbor's painted lanes and historic quays.

Which shadowy figures once plotted rebellion within these fortress walls, altering the course of local history in a single night? What unexpected connection ties the engines at Kingswear railway station to a notorious Devonshire scandal? Why does a certain doorway near the ferry still bear scorch marks, stubbornly resisting centuries of repair?

Wander from salt-stained battlements to bustling platforms, following tales of escape, daring politics and maritime deception. Each turn peels back layers of cobbled streets and hidden gardens, transforming every view into something charged with the energy of discovery.
