Central Library

Manchester Central Library - The iconic Grade II* listed building is the second largest public library in the UK. It is the jewel in the crown of Manchester's library service and a world-class, modern library fit for the 21st century. A four-year transformation process completed in March 2014 has led to improved services, lovingly restored heritage features and new spaces - including an additional 2,000 sq metres in the lower ground floor, the Archives+ Centre and a high tech Media Lounge on the ground floor. It is a cultural destination for people to meet, learn, share and read www.manchester.gov.uk/libraries
