About Romeo & Juliet
Romeo & Juliet is a ballet that reimagines Shakespeare’s tragic story in Renaissance Italy. The Montagues and the Capulets are locked in a dangerous family feud, and Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet fall in love across the divide.
Created by Rudolf Nureyev for Queen Elizabeth II’s Silver Jubilee in 1977, the production is now in its 50th anniversary. English National Ballet Philharmonic performs Prokofiev’s dramatic score live.
Running time: 2 hours 55 minutes, including an interval.
Before you book
Age guidance: Recommended 10+. Patrons aged 15 or under must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. The performance contains strobe lighting and includes themes of grief and revenge, with descriptions of violence.
