

Romeo & Juliet at the London Coliseum presents Shakespeare’s story as a ballet set in Renaissance Italy, where the Montagues and Capulets are on the brink of violence. Against that backdrop, Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet fall in love, and the story unfolds from first meeting to tragic consequence.
Created by Rudolf Nureyev for Queen Elizabeth II’s Silver Jubilee in 1977, this production is now in its 50th anniversary. English National Ballet Philharmonic perform Prokofiev’s score live, bringing the music into every part of the performance.

Recommended for ages 10+. Patrons aged 15 or under must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. The performance contains strobe lighting, and the show includes themes of grief and revenge as well as descriptions of violence.
No latecomers will be admitted, and there is no readmittance except during the interval. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase. The production cannot guarantee the appearance of any specific actor because of illness or unforeseen circumstances.
