Nutcracker

About Nutcracker

Nutcracker at the London Coliseum is English National Ballet’s production of Tchaikovsky’s festive ballet. It follows Clara on Christmas Eve in Edwardian London, beginning at Drosselmeyer’s Sweets & Delights Emporium and taking her through a Christmas party, a battle with the Rat King, an ice realm and the Land of Sweets & Delights.

The production features over 100 dancers and musicians. It is choreographed by Artistic Director Aaron S. Watkin and Olivier Award-winner Arielle Smith, with sets and costumes designed by Dick Bird. English National Ballet Philharmonic performs Tchaikovsky’s score live.

Reviewed as “vibrant” by the Financial Times and “astoundingly pretty” by The London Standard, this return to the London Coliseum presents the work as a festive ballet with a clear story, live music and large-scale staging.
