Nutcracker at the London Coliseum is English National Ballet’s production of the classic festive ballet, set on Christmas Eve in Edwardian London. The story follows Clara after a visit to Drosselmeyer’s Sweets & Delights Emporium introduces her to an enchanted Nutcracker doll and sets her on a fantasy journey.

Clara’s adventure moves from a glittering Christmas party to a battle with the Rat King, then on to an ice realm and the Land of Sweets & Delights, where the Sugar Plum Fairy hosts a celebration in her honour. The production returns to the London Coliseum with over 100 dancers and musicians, live performance of Tchaikovsky’s score by English National Ballet Philharmonic, and choreography by Artistic Director Aaron S. Watkin and Olivier Award-winner Arielle Smith.

Designed by Dick Bird, the production combines dancing, sets and costumes in a presentation described by Financial Times as “vibrant” and by The London Standard as “astoundingly pretty”.
