Rootikal Expression Session

The Rootikal Expression Session comes in with the first event after the summer, bringing some musical artists to the mix, alongside the resident selectas coming together on Impressa Soundsystem.

Impressa, Sis Star Selecta and Being One are returning to the Hyde Park Book Club for the third event of 2026. 

The musical artist for this one is James Krusz, who will bring some smooth sax lines and jazzy licks with a reggae soul. He picked up the sax 17 years ago and spent his teenage years playing in classical wind orchestras at venues such as the Royal Albert hall. It was in his twenties that he was drawn to the free and expressive nature of jazz and improvisation, starting to use music as a tool of self-expression and self-development. 

His musical journey then sent him towards sound system culture after attending an Impressa sound system event. Over the past couple of years he was been sharing his live sounds at dub sessions, performing in bands and recording for local artists.
