Frost Children
Frost Children
For Angel and Lulu Prost, the sibling duo behind Frost Children, home has always sounded like dance music. Born in St. Louis and raised on the sleek catharsis of golden-age EDM, the pair have built a reputation for revitalising and reimagining a frequently underestimated subgenre, delivering it with boldness, emotional clarity and unmistakable style.
Their third album, SISTER, out 12 September via True Panther/Dirty Hit, marks an exhilarating return to the sounds that first moved them. Blending the sensitivity and songcraft of Hearth Room with the propulsive energy of SPEED RUN, the record is both a confident identity statement and a deeply personal portrait of their creative bond.
As bandmates, roommates and self-described practitioners of “twin telepathy,” Frost Children craft music that pulses with intimacy and immediacy. SISTER delicately weaves emo, electro and pure pop into an arrestingly personal vision for modern dance music, one that transcends nostalgia and trend-chasing. Across anthems like “Position Famous,” “WHAT IS FOREVER FOR,” “Falling,” and the rapturous closer “2 LØVE,” the duo explore themes of co-dependence, consistency and change.
“This is so confidently what we love, and what we breathe,” says Lulu.
From the cheeky character study “Ralph Lauren,” inspired by the siblings’ high school jobs at the all-American outlet, to the reimagined echoes of “Bernadette” woven into “Bound2U,” their shared history animates every corner of SISTER’s expansive yet intimate world.
“It’s a way to explore what really makes us a unique band,” Angel explains. “We are siblings that are extremely close, that live together, and we can read each other’s minds.”
With their most forthright and full-bodied work to date, Frost Children bring their electrifying live show to Dublin this September for what promises to be an unmissable night at Whelan’s.
