Review of John Power (Cast/The LA\'s) and More

          Overall rating: 5 Verified review

The original John Power gig at Stereo was moved to The Record Factory and became an acoustic event. Information was a bit muddled re the venue change, with door time announced as now 3pm. It wasn't till 5 on the day, but the bar was open and food was being served. Music started about 6pm, good selection of local and other artists. Change round tomes were kept short. John Power came on about 10 pm, played a full set that lasted well over an hour, including most of the hits. He stayed around and took pics with people afterwards. Definitely the highlight of the night, and a real treat in such a small venue where the audience were very close. I did feel sorry for the one remaining act who performed after John Power as the crowd dispersed.
Disco carried on till the early hours. There was no charge over the original ticket price for the Stereo gig, so it was great value for money. Bar, food and staff all contributed to a great night and the atmosphere was very friendly. I'm not sure I have ever spent 10 hours in the same bar before, but I'd gladly do it again!

Great night, first time at Record Factory. Could do with someone announcing each act. Attentive bar staff. Music was good, Jon Power was a class act. Would recommend to others.
