Review of Kurt Vile and The Violators + King Hannah
Loved that. It's been nearly 30 years since I went to the Institute and it was great to see that's it's still a fantastic place to see live music. Kurt Vile and his band were tight musically and the sound was pretty good. A fair amount of the set list was from his last two albums - but since I love both of them, that was fine with me. Audience reaction was a little subdued at the start, but as the evening progressed became much more animated with a great ovation at the end. The band were clearly enjoying themselves and so did I. Great night.
