As the North West’s finest independent festival, Kendal Calling is a small-ish but ever so perfectly formed event, set in the lush rolling surroundings of the Lowther Deer Park near Penrith.

This year’s event sees a hugely diverse range of acts join the headliners for three days of beats, bangs and bops from the likes of Derrick Carter, Frank Turner, Levellers, Hugh Cornwell, The Charlatans, The Whip, Beardyman, Mr Scruff, Frankie and the Heartstrings, and loads, loads more. There’s also plenty more going on besides the music, with a great roster of comedy, poetry and spoken word.
