Festival season is now near enough gone despite a few notable exceptions (head here for a final fix), signed out in corking style with Bestival last weekend. Fret not though, longer nights mean longer raves and gigs, and boy have we got an abundance of them for you...

Clubs

Liked the Essential Mix Proms? Then you'll love the Hacienda Classical show. We're also looking forward to Roni Size in London, and although not technically a club, Blackpool Rocks is coming.

Skiddle Mix 085 - Dicky Trisco & Pete Herbert (Disco Deviance) by Skiddle on Mixcloud

We've spoken to Prosumer this week, been delivered a storming mix from the Disco Deviance boys and were absolutely wowed by Despacio. Oh and whisper it quietly but it'll soon be time to think about NYE and NYD - LWE have started the biggest night of the year conversation early with a huge New Year's Day party.

Live Music

X to the Z, remember him? Xzibit hits up London and Manchester for exclusive dates in October. Meanwhile we've been racking up our five of the best A Tribe Called Quest releases while getting acquainted with The Libertines new album Anthems For Doomed Youth. Not your usual mix right? But it's not as unhinged as the madness that we saw from Mac Demarco at Beacons Metro on Saturday.

On a final note, if you're heading to university be sure to check out our Freshers pages, and also sign up to the 1Xtra workshops which we're powering the tickets for. Who wouldn't want Charlie Sloth giving them career advice?
