Torchlight Tours returns to Samlesbury Hall in Preston for Halloween 2026

All Hallows' Eve is just around the corner, and whilst the leaves are still changing from a long, hot summer, we think it's the perfect time to get in the spooky spirit - pardon the pun. Samlesbury Hall seems to think the same, with their Torchlight Tours resuming on 7th October.

Known as one of the most haunted buildings in Britain, Samlesbury Hall's historic house and grounds are said to be home to 13 different ghosts and spirits, with hundreds of reports from guests, staff and previous inhabitants with the first recorded sighting in 1873. Samlesbury Hall celebrates these haunted inhabitants, noting that none of them are malicious spirits, but instead are rather 'friendly' ghosts. 

Samlesbury Hall hosts Torchlight Tours throughout the year, yet the October 7th date is likely to be the most paranormally active of the tours, falling so close to Halloween. The 60-minute guided tour includes The Great Hall, The Chapel, The Parlour, The Entrance Hall, The Long Gallery, The Priest’s Room and The Ghost Room in the Attic.
