Yamama
Where: 32 Parliament Street, L8 5RW
When: Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm and Fridays from 10am to 5:30pm
Rated as a UK top 10 hidden gem, Yamama is a café and bar serving a fusion of English and Arabic cuisine and is being recognised as one of the best breakfast cafés in Liverpool. The independent business is owned by two sisters who moved from Jordan and brings authentic Palestinian flavours to the city. Along with traditional English breakfasts, their menu serves smashed falafel toast, labneh on toast and ‘Grandma’s Zait & Zaatar’. Their baba ganoush, a roasted aubergine and tahini dip, is definitely a highlight! If you prefer a sweet treat, they also have a delicious bakery section of home-made cakes and pastries to pair with a range of hot drinks.
Leaf
Where: 364-368 Smithdown Road, L15 5AN
When: Monday to Wednesday 8am-4pm, Thursday 8am-8:30pm, Friday-Saturday 8am-8pm and Sunday 8am-6:30pm
Leaf began as a small tea shop selling quality loose-leaf tea. They've now turned into a restaurant, loved by locals and visitors alike. And it makes sense why. They serve quality food at a good price for vegans, vegetarians, meat lovers and people who are looking for something different. Expect large portions of shakshuka, American-style pancakes, grilled halloumi and guacamole as well as small breakfast nibbles. And they're still selling their well-loved tea leaves, having 60 different types of loose tea! Get adventurous with flavours like Turkish apple, exotic garden, passionfruit and orange.
The Bagelry
Where: 42 Nelson Street, L1 5DN
When: Monday-Sunday, 9am - 3pm
If you love an intense sandwich situation, The Bagelry in Liverpool’s beloved Chinatown is the best breakfast place for you. All the bagels are rolled, boiled and baked fresh in the New York Deli-style restaurant. Pick your bagel- from rye, olive, jalapenos, poppy and sesame- and then get to stacking with a selection of fresh and delicious ingredients. Fillings include pastrami, salmon, sausage, eggs and hash browns. Or keep it classic with their Cheese Steak, Buffalo Shroom, Halloumi Shawarma bagels, and more. The options and combinations are endless.
Ffrens

When: Monday and Wednesday 11am-4pm, Thursday to Saturday 11am-11pm
Ffrens is a new healthy brunch and evening wine bar that’s recently opened in the heart of the creative Baltic Triangle, and it’s already becoming a favourite spot for locals! Opened by two friends, the independent business sells a range of fresh bakery items like sausage rolls (vegan ones are available too), focaccia, frittas, fresh bread, savoury tarts along with a fresh Mediterranean-style salad bar with a load of options. Massive cookies, cupcakes and brownies with experimental flavours has also been a hit, slowly becoming one of the best breakfast places in Liverpool.
Lunko
Where: 1a Little Parkfield Road, L17 8UD
When: Wednesday to Sunday, 9:30am to 4pm.
In Lark Lane you’ll likely find a queue every weekend outside Lunko, Liverpool’s favourite and possibly best artisan, independent bakery. The bakery is often changing up their menu, keeping their loyal following curious. You can always expect delicious sweet or savoury flaky and buttery croissants, danishes, and croffins filled with delicious flavours like raspberry and white chocolate, almond, lemon, apple crumble and much more. And for the vegans, one of their most popular pastries is the vegan Biscoff cube! A top choice for one of the best breakfast places in Liverpool, they also do delicious and warm focaccia sandwiches.
Minna

When: Monday to Sunday, 9am-5pm
Another one in Lark Lane, Minna is a female-founded and run restaurant serving healthy brunches. A favourite for the locals in South Liverpool, Minna serves up mainly interesting vegan and vegetarian dishes like seasonal French toast, Turkish eggs, roast squash sourdough and brioche loaves.
Frevo Brunch Café
Where: 65 Hanover Street, L1 3DY
When: Monday to Saturday 9am - 4pm and Sunday 10am - 3pm
Ever tried a Brazilian breakfast? Well now’s your chance to have an authentic Brazilian bite in the heart of the city.
