DJ Spen is as respected as he is adulated, and has been consistently brilliant as an artist since his early inception into production 30 years ago. A true professional with a skill set to rival the best, the Baltimore great is still at the top of his game - something that was clarified even further with his mix offering for the Skiddle series.

After releasing a string of underground classics in the late 80s and early 90s, Spen gained commercial and dancefloor success which resulted in a high demand for his distinctive remixes, something which led to him reworking some massive names including Diana Ross, Michael Jackson and Everything But The Girl, whilst he partnered with Teddy Douglas, Thommy Davis and Karizma to create some defining house anthems.

Back in 2012, Spen started Quantize Recordings with Thommy Davis, they then produced tracks from talents such as Jocelyn Brown and Barbara Tucker, and the label is still responsible for some of the hottest house, deep house and afro tracks. Likewise, Spen is still creating magic with his own releases and his many gigs across the globe to fans both old and new.

His exclusive mix for us is reflective of his disco set scheduled to take place at the first ever Liverpool Disco Festival on Saturday 29th October, so sit back and enjoy something a little bit different from the soulful house master as he digs into groove-laden beats and dreamy funk cuts.
