Record Store Day is back this weekend, and it’s bigger than ever.

Taking place on Saturday 18th April, the day sees over 300 independent record shops across the UK and Ireland open their doors with shelves full of exclusive releases and a whole host of live music, DJ sets, signings, and more to mark the occasion.

Hundreds of artists are supporting these independent record shops with a range of exclusive vinyl releases, including titles from Charli XCX, CMAT, Primal Scream, Robert Plant, The Streets and Wolf Alice, which are available in-store only on the day.

These queues get pretty hefty from the early hours too, with people even camping overnight to secure their coveted release and be a part of the culture. But even joining later on is great fun, and these venues are putting on full-day celebrations to make sure of it.

Find the full list of exclusive releases and start deciding how you're willing to queue for, or scroll down for more on exclusive Record Store Day events across the country.

Official Media Partner, 6 Music are also rejoining the revelry, broadcasting live from Monorail Music in Glasgow, with Huw Stephens hosting a special show featuring appearances from Teenage Fanclub, Stuart Braithwaite of Mogwai, and Phoebe I-H from BBC Introducing in Scotland. All while the station will also present a ‘Vinyl Weekender’ across the waves, celebrating the occasion with live sessions, interviews and vinyl-focused programming.

Huw says: “Record Store Day is a huge deal, and Glasgow certainly loves its records. I’ve been to Monorail Music a few times over the years, and having Teenage Fanclub play there, along with a chance to talk to a range of guests during the show, will be very special indeed.”

Not just in Glasgow, but across the country, individual venues are also going all out to mark the occasion:

London is particularly stacked this year, led by Dash The Henge's two-day, multi-venue festival spanning four spaces with 40 bands, DJs and exclusive releases on one wristband, and Phonica’s all-day session running from 9am to 9pm with secret guest sets. Elsewhere in the capital, Rough Trade East hosts a full day of DJ sets and live performances from 10am, while Soul Brother Records celebrates its 35th anniversary with a special in-store signing from Georgie B.

Jacaranda Records in Liverpool is offering live music, free hot drinks, a BBQ for early arrivals and an exclusive signed Kula Shaker 7” for the first 100 people through the door.

In Edinburgh, Voxbox Music marks both Record Store Day and its 15th birthday with a full day of live music inside a pop-up space at St Vincent’s Chapel. While over in Leith The False Widow’s Good Vibes event delivers a full day of live music curated by Lost Map Records and Play Nice Presents, featuring Acolyte, Isa Gordon, Tony Morris, Buffet Lunch, and a special guest, before rolling into an evening of vinyl DJ sets and performances.

Elsewhere, Le Freak Records in Dundee runs a full-day event from 10 to 6 with vinyl DJs and giveaways, before heading to Canvas Dundee for a late-night takeover, and Steamboat Records in Limerick hosts a full day of DJs and live performances from Irish Wonders, God Knows and First Class Rebel, with more happening across the day.

Whether you're in it for the rare vinyl, the live music or just the atmosphere and culture, Record Store Day 2026 is shaping up to be another belter, and one you may have to set a scary alarm for.
