Notting Hill Carnival 2019: Skiddle x Virgin Records free party weekender

We've secured an exciting new open-air space slap bang in the carnival action for a weekend of free partying with Stanton Warriors, Something to Hate On (SHO) and loads more.

Steel bands, flamboyant costumes, and masquerade floats with mega sound systems - Europe’s largest street party is almost upon us, and Skiddle has been busy gearing up to co-host a cracking free weekender.

With over two million people expected to hit the streets of west London for the annual celebration of Caribbean culture, Skiddle has teamed up with Virgin Records to put on a series of parties over the August Bank Holiday (24-26 Aug)

Beginning with a carnival warm-up on Saturday night (9pm-3am) in trendy Notting Hill spot, Laylow, Skiddle will then be setting up shop at The Yard, on the corner of Harrow Road and Ladbroke Grove, for two days (25-26 Aug) of partying.

With an open-air capacity crowd, a state of the art L-Acoustics sound system and an urban jungle theme (designed by YDB Productions), these events, slap bang at the heart of all the carnival action, look set to be a real highlight of the capital's favourite party weekend.

The Sunday edition (midday-7pm) will be curated by globally-renowned breakbeat legends Stanton Warriors, featuring Bushwacka, The Nextmen, Audio Bullys, Ragga Twins, Killa Kella, Andy Smith, the Warriors themselves and a few special guests.

On Monday (midday-7pm), The Yard will be taken over for New School Monday, curated by Something To Hate On (SHO), this time featuring the likes of Col3trane, Raye, Miraa may, Jevon, Thankgod4cody, Vibbar, Narx, Jamo Beatz and plenty more.

In addition to the daytime parties, Skiddle and Virgin have secured the nearby Parlour on Regent Street for a more laid-back NHC lounge (1pm ‘til midnight), with surprise after-party acts, brand giveaways, plus fresh and seasonal bites and great craft beer and cocktails.
