Edinburgh's Festival Fringe, the world's largest arts festival kicks off today, with everything from comedy to cabaret to exhibitions set to transform the city in to one big stage.
Music also plays a big part of the festival, with bands and DJs scheduled to perform up until the final day on 28th August. Local promoters Nightvision have delivered on their part, welcoming three acts both offering a completely different style and experience.
On Saturday 5th August, they invite Belfast duo Bicep to play their blend of Italo, house, techno and disco live at Liquid Rooms. The show is part of the pair's UK tour, which will see them showcase their debut album which is due for release on Ninja Tune on 1st September.
The following Saturday, one of the true pioneers of the jungle movement, Congo Natty, will play at La Belle Angele. He'll be joined by Iron Dread and Congo Dubz for a turbo-charged masterclass in a fusion of breakbeats, reggae and dub.
On Friday 18th and Saturday 19th, Mr Scruff returns for two exclusive Fringe shows. Scruff is a firm crowd favourite thanks to his sets which bounce between soul, funk, hip-hop, jazz, reggae, latin, African, ska, disco, house, funk and everything in between. Animated and consistently well-executed, this is the ultimate way to take your Fringe experience from night to early morning.
Musika returns to La Belle Angele on Saturday 26th August for a summer party with the mighty Dixon at the helm. It will be the first time in almost a decade since the Innervisions boss has played in the Scottish capital.
