A new grassroots funding scheme has just been launched by the UK music charity Music Venue Trust (MVT), revealing the details around its new investment programme, 'Raise The Standard'. The scheme has been supported by LIVE Trust, in aid to upgrade soundsystems, lighting rigs, backline, microphones and more at venues across the UK.
'Raise The Standard' is also backed by "leading manufacturers and suppliers" who are helping to contribute equipment and "direct investment" into independent music venues. To give support to grassroots venues across the UK and the musicians who perform at them, bringing touring costs down by offering a space to rest after shows.

The scheme also goes alongside the UK’s arena ticket levy, which sees £1 from every ticket sold for selected large-scale arena and stadium shows go toward grassroots music venues.
Grassroots venues across the UK can apply for 'direct investment' through the scheme, which MVT announced this Monday (13th April): "This is a new programme focused on something simple but critical: the equipment on stage. Putting real kit in real rooms, to make a real difference."
