Today (Wednesday 10th September) marked the unveiling of the Mercury Prize 2025 nominees, and it's looking pretty promising. On the list is CMAT for her album 'Euro-Country;, plus Fontaines D.C.‘s 'Romance', Pulp‘s comeback record 'More', PinkPantheress' 'Fancy That', and Sam Fender‘s 'People Watching'.
Other nominees also include FKA Twigs 'Eusexua', Pa Salieu 'Afrikan Alien', Emma-Jean Thackray 'Weirdo', and Wolf Alice‘s 'The Clearing', which is a Mercury Prize record for an artist to be nominated for all of their first four albums.

Last year, Leeds-based rock band English Teacher went home with the prize, which saw the first act from outside the capital to lift the trophy in 10 years. The Mercury Prize ceremony will commence on Thursday 16th October at Utilita Arena in Newcastle, for the first time, after accusations that the prize had become too London-centric.
The ceremony will also feature live performances from many of the nominees. To find tickets for the Mercury Prize 2025, head to the Utilita Arena for more information.
