Luminous Disco with The Horrors (DJ Set)

After blowing the Albert Hall roof off at their sold out show, The Horrors bring the noise to prime Manchester hub Gorilla for their exclusive luminous disco DJ set on Saturday 27th September. 

Ever since their formation in 2005, the band's output has been a continuous melting pot of sounds, starting out as grungey post punk monsters before gradually developing their sound into an innovative blend of synthesised shoegaze psychedelia to bring them to where they are today.

They've recently released their latest album Luminous, hence 'Luminous Disco', and it can certainly be said that this album can be tailored towards a DJ set, with its swarming synth tones, distinctive hazy guitar built up behind front man Faris' smokey vocals as demonstrated in 'So Now You Know' above.

Their previous acclaimed album Skying, which claimed NME's Album of the Year accolade, proved to be an early indication towards this route for the Horrors with its psychedelic characteristic. It seems that 'luminous' is the finished article for The Horrors' venture into the electronic realm, claiming their own distinct sound that is perfectly suited to cleanse a space of Gorilla's kind.
