The team of dedicated organisers behind Cambridge-based music event, Strawberries and Creem have recently announced via social media that headliner Lil Wayne will sadly no longer be performing at the festival, due to take place this weekend, after being refused entry into the UK by the Home Office.

In a statement posted online yesterday, the festival said the thirty-nine-year-old Grammy-award-winning artist would be 'unable to perform on Saturday 18th June' due to 'extreme circumstances beyond our control and influence.' See the full statement from Strawberries and Creem Festival below...

The last-minute refusal from the Home Office marks the second occasion the rapper, regarded as one of the most influential names in hip hop and rap, has had his visa application denied. Before his most recent rejection, the New Orleans-born hitmaker was blocked from entering Britain in 2011, with Border Control Authorities back then also citing his past criminal record.

Although the news will undoubtedly dishearten many music fans, the festival has succeeded in finding and bringing in an adequate replacement. Filling Lil Wayne's massive shoes on Saturday 18th June, fellow legend of the American hip-hop scene, Grammy-award-winner, Ludacris will deliver a pound-for-pound performance.

The world-renowned rapper, record executive and Fast and Furious actor will execute an arsenal of his biggest hits - from 'Act A Fool' and 'Get Back' to 'What's Your Fantasy' - live in front of the thousands gathered on the stunning green landscapes of Childerley Orchard in the Cambridgeshire countryside.

Other names set to appear across this weekend's festival include Mabel, Tion Wayne, Ghetts, Sub Focus, Wilkinson, Knucks, The Compozers and many more.
