Janet Jackson to be awarded Icon Award at the 2025 AMAs

Celebrating 50 years in the music industry is none other than Janet Jackson. Being recognised for her 'undeniable cultural and global influence', this comes as a huge moment for the artist as they set to receive their award on Monday 26th May 2025. This will be a huge treat for Janet Jackson fans as she is set to perform on TV for the first time since 2018. 

Being a part of the Jackson family, Janet's career started earlier than most, with her first stage appearance happening at the age of 5 with her brothers (The Jackson 5). Since then, Janet Jackson's career has soared with hits such as 'Rhythm Nation', 'Scream', 'That's The Way Love Goes', 'Together Again' and more. With 11 American Music Awards under her belt, Janet has also found herself being a part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, a five-time Grammy winner, and selling over 180 million albums worldwide. 

Janet's music recently saw a surge on the popular social media platform, TikTok, as her song, 'Someone To Call My Lover' from her 2001 album, All For You, as the song reached number 3 in the Billboard charts. 

The artists took to social media, showing her appreciation for the award 'Thank you so much, AMAs!! It's an honour. We look forward to being on your stage again. See you in Vegas!' 

The 2025 American Music Awards is set to be hosted at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Las Vegas and will be hosted by Jennifer Lopez.
