Sankeys are going all out for Halloween weekend, ringing October off in stunning style with two huge parties and plenty of spooky surprises.

The club is pushing the boat our production-wise, digging deep to add some sinister touches in the form of ghouls, ghosts, pumpkins, a spectacular light show, and much more.

Friday 28th October

The first party comes in the shape of hard dance superstars Goodgreef celebrating their eleventh birthday on the Friday. What started as a lunatic asylum for a few mates in one of Manchester’s stately homes a few years has gone on to be the leading club brand in hard dance and trance music. They’ve taken their sound to festivals across the globe and booked the scene’s biggest names. Paul van Dyk, Tiesto and of course the man who’s meteoric rise has mirrored Goodgreef’s own, Eddie Halliwell, all having taken centre stage at the club over the years.

The talent at this birthday Halloween extravaganza is equally as rambunctious, headlined by John O'Callaghan. O’Callaghan is one of the stars of the music’s new wave, rapidly cementing his status as part of the trance elite before entering his thirties.

And if you thought that was impressive, Hardwell has etched himself just as high all before the age of 25, his brand of epic main room house in the vein of the Swedish house Mafia. Stunning melodic trance form Dutch titan Marcel Woods completes the bill.

Saturday 29th October

On Saturday the venue rises again for a special fancy dress ‘Alloween Allnighter, featuring fiendish exponents of horrible house and trembling techno.

Germanic-Turk house experimentalist Butch is topping the bill; a man whose musical upbringing varied from Frankfurt club Dorian Gray to graffiting trains in his native Minaz and the German DMC tournaments where he was a finalist. Since then he’s released tracks on Trapez, Craft Music and Great Stuff on a solo tip and alongside producers like Oxia, Popof and Anir. The UK’s young house music hero Jordan Peak, and Hot Creations stalwart Miguel Campbell combine for some illustrious back-up.

Sankeys once more offer something truly sublime as Continue returns for its 5th instalment upstairs in Spektrum. Widely feted in Manchester as the city’s most exciting new party, the ethos has proved remarkably simple yet devastatingly good in effect; take several of future garage and techno’s new stars, place them in one of the world’s best clubbing spaces and let them loose all night long for a showcase of new sounds. The party remains free and has attracted a crowd of dedicated party people drawn to something with an effervescent energy, encapsulating all that’s good about new music in the UK and beyond.

Saturday 29th October again brings five young stars to the hallowed Sankeys rave den. Making his name primarily through his dubstep/two-step output, Manchester's Synkro effortlessly transcends electronic genres with his brand of deep bass driven music, hot stepping between 140 and 170bpm with a wide range of thoughtful and, at times, beautifully delicate sounds. He’s supported by James Fox, a genre-spanning DJ whose tracks and sets join the dots between bass-driven house music, broken UK flavours and soulful Motor City influences. Further support comes from Truss, along with nu-garage producer Jamie Grind.

There’s also Sankeys’ newest resident, Jozef K, who is fast making a name for himself at the club. Following in the esteemed footsteps of the some of the venue’s past residents, including Greg Vickers, Mistress de Funk and Bucky, Jozef joins the elite ranks of a hand-picked pantheon selected to help embody the institution’s music manifesto, and makes his Continue debut. David Drum Clinic is on show too, rounding of the 5th Continue instalment.
