Sixties prog-rock band Gong pay tribute to their late legendary frontman Daevid Allen with November tour dates in support of a new album.

Allen sadly died last year, the man who founded the band when he moved to France in the sixties. They will release a new record Rejoice! I'm Dead! this September (Listen to a clip below). It follows classic Gong albums like Angel's Egg and Flying Teapot.

They've existed in various shapes and forms throughout 28 albums, even without Allen for a period in the seventies. Kavus Torabi is the new man at the forefront of winding the groovy nuances and plugging the cosmic psych sound that's attracted a cult-following to Planet Gong.

The new album will feature the voice of Daevid from early rehearsals and a trio of Gong alumni. In the words of bassist Dave Sturt, "You bet it's a fucking Gong record". They play a key date at Gorilla in Manchester on Thursday 24th November
