As part of Independent Venue Week much celebrated folk singer Frank Turner, who happens to be this year's ambassador, heads to cultured Manchester hotspot Night and Day Cafe to grace its confines with an intimate gig on Wednesday 28th January.
From the bright lights of the 02 and Wembley Arena to opening the Olympics Opening Ceremony, Frank has come along way from the likes of the Leeds and Reading Festival lock up stage in 2008 that provided the gateway to where he is today. It's this gig that takes him back to his roots and signifies the importance of independent venues in the musical eco system.
Ever since the disbandment of Million Dead, Franks career arguably keeps on getting better and better since picking up the acoustic guitar and turning his head to folk and country music. From his latest album Tape Deck Heart (check 'The Way I intend to be' from that above) to Sleep Is For The Week, each album spanning his impressive solo career has been as well received as the other which lends to his success.
Whether its adorning festival stages to lighting up intimate spaces, it's the connection Frank maintains with his audiences that makes him so special, and it's that kind of presence that is craved by independent venues - fortunately for Manchester it's provided by this one off gig.
Tickets for that will be available here or via the ticket box below from 9am Thursday 27th November 2015.
